Project Okada Marshall House
This architectural design of the Okada Marshall House masterfully integrates timber cladding, blending the house seamlessly into its forest surroundings. Vertical timber boards and battens create a textured, natural veil that transitions from solid panels to delicate slats, mimicking tree trunks and softening the building's form. The timber lining blurs the home's edges, acting as a porous barrier through which foliage and sky filter, enhancing the sense of connection with nature. Even where glass introduces crisp geometry, timber remains the dominant element, maintaining a harmonious balance. This thoughtful use of timber as camouflage allows the house to recede, making the forest itself the true architectural focal point.
