Workshop Architecture Venice (WAVe) 2026
Details
WAVe 2026, titled "Balance. Different Types of Equilibrium", is an international architecture workshop program organised by the Università Iuav di Venezia. Centred on balance as a dynamic design condition, the program examines relationships between stability and change, memory and innovation, natural and artificial systems, permanence and transformation, and structure and void. It is directed to architecture students, lecturers, researchers, and international schools of architecture through collaborative design workshops that address adaptive coexistence, spatial and social repair, material reuse, ecological instability, construction techniques, and new architectural imaginaries.
The program is scientifically coordinated by Michel Carlana and Simone Gobbo. Participating workshop leaders and institutions include Christina Köchling and Anna Wortmann from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar; Smit Vyas from CEPT University; Lee Kyeong Jae from Myongji University; Ambra Fabi, Giovanni Piovene and Jean-Benoît Vétillard from École d’architecture de la ville & des territoires Paris-Est; Eduardo Roig and Nieves Mestre from ETSAM; Alejandra Celedon, Serena Dambrosio and Nicolás Navarrete from Universidad Diego Portales; and Raffaella Laezza, Giovanni Santamaria and Evan Shieh from New York Institute of Technology.
