MAEK is a Perth-based luxury design and construction firm specialising in contemporary custom homes and boutique residential developments. Established in 2009 and based in Peppermint Grove, Western Australia, the company focuses on one-off residences that combine architectural design, detailed construction, and controlled project delivery. Its client base includes high-end residential owners seeking individually resolved homes.
The company’s service model is based on an integrated DesignBuild process, providing a single point of contact across both design and construction. This approach is intended to address challenges commonly associated with traditional design–tender–build models, particularly for complex luxury homes where cost certainty, time management, coordination and risk control are important. MAEK’s process emphasises structured delivery, quality outcomes, programme control, and value, while maintaining close alignment between design intent and construction execution.
MAEK incorporates environmentally responsible design and construction considerations through contemporary materials, technologies and design innovations. The company also considers ethical manufacture when sourcing products locally and internationally. The leadership team combines design, architectural and construction expertise. Founding Director Jon McComish has nearly 25 years’ experience across major projects in Australia and overseas, including apartments, high-rise towers, museums, shopping centres, industrial facilities and large design-and-construct projects. Design Architect Paul Jones contributes three decades of architectural and interior design experience, while Creative Director Kathryn Sims and Construction Director Richard Linton add capability in high-end residential design and construction management. Since its inception, MAEK has delivered more than A$200 million in projects and maintains a deliberately limited annual build volume to support close oversight of projects.
