Architectural Practice

Blight Rayner Architecture is a Brisbane-founded, director-led practice established by Jayson Blight and Michael Rayner, with an additional Sydney office opened in 2020, providing architecture, urban design and interior design as closely integrated disciplines. The practice works across commercial, cultural and community, education, residential, retail, sport, interior and masterplanning projects, serving clients from private individuals and families through to organisations, communities and city-scale stakeholders. Its deliberately mid-sized structure enables directors to remain directly involved in each project, combining hands-on design leadership with collaborative client engagement, specialist consultant input and advanced digital coordination. The practice is distinguished by its focus on resolving social, physical, technological and economic challenges through detailed, context-responsive design that supports liveability, climate responsiveness and cultural inclusivity, including for First Nations peoples, and by its delivery of major projects such as Glasshouse Theatre, 360 Queen Street and Kangaroo Point Bridge, alongside Michael Rayner AM’s 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award.
