Singapore Design Week 2025
Details
Singapore Design Week 2025, organised by the DesignSingapore Council, centres on the theme “Nation by Design” and explores the contribution of design to Singapore’s urban identity in areas such as housing, healthcare, sustainability, and community development. The programme features exhibitions, installations, workshops, talks, and tours, unfolding across four Design Districts and involving more than 50 community-led and institutional initiatives. Prominent events include “Unnatural History Museum of Singapore” by Kinetic Singapore, which presents a creative reinterpretation of Singapore’s imaginative history through hybrid flora, robotic fauna, and artefacts. “Craft x Design: Heritage Reimagined,” curated by Justin Loke (Vertical Submarine) with the National Heritage Board and HeritageSG, highlights collaborations between traditional craftspeople and contemporary designers. Additionally, “Assemble for Impact”—a collaboration between Henning Larsen, Magorium, Ramboll, Singapore Green Building Council, Superstructure, and WASTD—focuses on low-carbon building practices and sustainable architecture.
The event targets design practitioners, cultural institutions, and organisations concerned with civic engagement and sustainability, providing a platform to discuss design's evolving social and environmental roles within Singapore’s context.
