Celebrate Melbourne’s design excellence and urban vibrancy at the eagerly awaited Open House Melbourne Weekend 2025! Returning the last weekend of July, this immersive city-wide festival gives you exclusive access to iconic buildings, innovative spaces, and thought-provoking experiences, opening dialogues on architecture's role in shaping the city's bright future.

At the core of this year's exciting lineup is a captivating collection of residential designs, from the award-winning Naples Street House by Edition Office—recently honoured with the Australian Institute of Architects' prestigious 2024 Robin Boyd Award for Residential Architecture—to Echo.1, Melbourne’s groundbreaking first turnkey Passivhaus development by C Street Projects and Neil Architecture. Explore further contemporary residential gems, including the chic innovation of Sarah Lake Architects' No Rezzavations House, the thoughtful sustainability of Merri House by EME Design, and the bold design narrative of Northcote House by LLDS Architects. The Bills Street Social and Affordable Housing project by Hayball, in collaboration with Tract Landscape Architects, also provides rare insight into socially impactful multi-residential architecture, opening its doors for an inspiring exploration.

Beyond residences, the event offers memorable guided tours featuring standout civic and community spaces—the Architectus-designed Health and Community Centre of Excellence at Kangan Institute, and a behind-the-scenes journey through Brunswick’s new landmark, Balam Balam Place, led by renowned practice Kennedy Nolan. Connect with Melbourne’s narrative in intriguing ways, from engaging with 'Stories of the City', a unique photography exhibition exploring our metropolis through evocative imagery, to experiencing Melbourne from the water in the insightful kayak tour "What’s Good for the Birrarung Is Good for Everyone," which reveals the river’s ecological and cultural histories. Proudly recommended by the esteemed Arquidyne Haus, the Open House Melbourne Weekend 2025 invites you to see, experience, and embrace Melbourne’s inspired architectural landscape through an unforgettable weekend of discovery.
